I would be LIVID if I had an Apollo and he had to be “Apollo C” or whatever at primary school!

Bluelilacbella · 24/08/2025 09:05

Otto, Quentin & Rupert seem quite popular among babies here

And I’ve met two young Albas

chuzzlewitthechipmunk · 24/08/2025 09:07

Within a year I knew three people have Kayla/Kyla/Kayleighs which whilst not the same name were similar enough to make me raise an eyebrow…

GrumpySparkler · 24/08/2025 09:09

Ottilie.
I'd never come across it before and then met 3 baby Ottilie's in about 3 months.

DD’s nursery group had a Bear, a Fox and a Wolfie. Very woodland fairytale themed.

I know three babies called Daphne

ThrowAway987654321 · 24/08/2025 11:55

There were THREE Ian’s in DD’s year 6 class last year. THREE!

Denim4ever · 24/08/2025 12:04

How long before Debra/Deborah/Debbie, Jacqueline/Jackie, Sharon, Tracey make a comeback? I guess Karen from the same era has more of an uphill battle.

In the 90s my friend married a Lucas. Then a very rare name and considered a bit pretentious. His brother was called Felix, which people actually laughed about. How times change

Toddlerteaplease · 24/08/2025 12:16

I’ve met a few Dennis’s.

Emanwenym · 24/08/2025 15:18

@LividSquidward It's how it works.
I went to a tiny primary school and there were several duplicated names.
The duplicated names weren't popular names.
Of the names super-popular at the time, only 3 were duplicated, but one of those was always Firstname Middlename.
