fine but I'd put Anne or Ann or Anna on the form (think should give full name for official purposes, then child has the opportunity use either when they are grown up).

meemar · 29/05/2008 19:15

I like Annie.

Annie Rose is a character in a children's book I think. The names sound nice together but it might look a bit intentional.

LittleMissTickles · 29/05/2008 19:15

I like Annie very much, but would also use Anna as the official version.

littleboyblue · 29/05/2008 19:16

Very pretty. I can see a lovely little strawberry blonde girl, twirling in the park. I quite like double names like that with Rose as it gives it a grown up feel too. I like Rose-Marie, I told my friend and she asked me if I expected to give birth to a boat! She a funny thing

meemar · 29/05/2008 19:17

I don't think you really need official versions of names. If she will be called Annie, then name her Annie. There's no law against it!

cc21 · 29/05/2008 19:18

Love it - mas thinking of it myself!!!!!!

Don't bother with the Anne/Anna thing, if your going to call the baby Annie I don't see the point. Just my opinion

Heyyoo · 29/05/2008 19:18

great that the response is so positive - I guess it would suit quite a strong little character too.....that's what I picture anyway

I like Annie but not so fond of Annie Rose because of the Alfie books connection. Annie with another one syllable middle name would be lovely.

Can't see any reason at all for an "official" version tbh.

Heyyoo · 29/05/2008 19:19

yes DH told me about the Alfie books - not so well known I thought

I like Annie a lot, and agree, don't bother with an official version.

nickytwotimes · 29/05/2008 19:22

Lovely name.

Hulababy · 29/05/2008 19:27

Very sweet names.

However, agree about eh Annie Rose link with the Shirley Hughes book (Alfie's sister) - people will make the link, esp if they hav had children.

forkhandles · 29/05/2008 19:33

I like Annie is a lovely girls name and should be easy to find another middle name to go with it like Grace, Hope, Kate, May/Mae, Maeve, Fleur.

colander · 29/05/2008 19:46

Lovely.

And I don't often say that on these baby name threads

minniedot · 29/05/2008 20:07

I prefer Anna. Annie is a bit old ladyish imo.

Heyyoo · 29/05/2008 20:32

thanks all x

I really love it. Feminine but not weak, unusual but not wtf? Fashion forward but not ludicrous! Very good. Tick, Tick.

My tastes have changed though. 5 yrs ago I thought Annie was Annie Sugden but now it's on that fashion cusp.

Anna is pretty, but Annie has a little bit more stand up when I walk in to the room please! about it.

Rose is lovely after Annie.

Why not put Annabel Rose on the birth cert and then you can let the nn evolve into Annie.

tiredemma · 29/05/2008 20:42

Love it

Heyyoo · 30/05/2008 09:26

wow loads of good responses so unusual for here

It will actually be an abbreviation of a v old family traditional name Angelina which I know gets not so great responses on here lol but I don't mind as we really like it and want to abbreviate to Annie straight away anyway...

thanks again for your feedback
