nah,my nephew has it,its none of those names that are a bit unusual to start with but then it just seems perfect for the child and u cant imagine them being called anything else

tab1 · 27/05/2008 22:51

it's lovely!

spareparts · 27/05/2008 23:02

Lovely!

MamaTama · 27/05/2008 23:06

I had a big black fish called Oscar when I was a kid & I know a guy with the same name whom it suits very well, just as well as it did the fish, so I guess you could conclude that it's a very nice adaptable name that will be perfect for the person or creature it's bestowed upon!

mybrainaches · 27/05/2008 23:08

I have an uncle Oscar, no idea why though, his name is Neil.

minniedot · 28/05/2008 09:26

We have an Oscar, he's nearly 9. When we first named him people were a bit surprised, but I think now it's a little more popular.

We still love the name and Oscar really suits it.

Whooosh · 28/05/2008 09:27

Love it.

kayzisexpecting · 28/05/2008 09:29

Really like it.

Thanks for your answers.

I was just checking as it's DS's name!

Whe have had people presume he's a dog, though!

I love oscar. When i was pg with dd and convinced she was a boy, i told dp's family i would love that name. There was silence then they all burst out laughing
I still love it, and mentioned it to dp the other day as a potential name for dc2. He doesn't like it at all tho.

Fou · 28/05/2008 10:15

Initially our family were very .

DS is 5, and I'm a little annoyed it's getting so popular, TBH.
