So I have 2 boys, with normal but not overly popular names. I suspect I am expecting another boy trouble is finding a name for him (or her) is proving really hard.

However not being due until October,I have time on my side.

So for a boy we have...
Gregory (but known as greg)
Jason

And for a girl

Marie

We cant have anything starting with L really.

I Spose the kinds of names we like were the ones we grew up with, solid no messin with names (gregory could be a bit borderline here) sporting names are good, I like girls names to be good as adult names, being good kiddie names is not hugly important as nick names are always a good route here.

Any more suggestions?

So you mean things like Rachel, Ruth, Hannah for girls?

Report
iMum · 25/05/2008 13:10

hmmm, yeah sort of although I only really like Ruth.
I do like sophie but it is very popular right now, I was one of 4 girls who had my name in my class and it drove me bonkers.

We both really like Claire too.

Solid female names:
Emily
Emma
Laura
Rachael
Rebecca

Solid male names:
Samuel
Benedict
Tobias (toby)
George
William
Joseph

(I am afriad that I think Jason is a really dated 80s name).

I do know what you mean about Jason but we both like it! Benedict however sounds like im ordering eggs!

Other boys names we have thought of are

Bradley

Mark (although this is dhs name and he thinks it is a bit egotistical to name your son after you, not to mention confusing with post and things)

Martin?

Harriet for a girl as it works well for a little one and when they get older they can be Harry if they want to!

Max is a good solid name for a little boy - very masculine and easy to write when they get to that age.

I know a few young Gregs and I have to say they are all very nice polite well behaved boys so I do like it.

Marie is a bit dull and uninspiring IMO!

I think if you have a little girl you could think of something more inspiring than Marie!tho I do think it is a lovely middle name.

Emma Marie
Hannah Marie
Catherine Marie

Daniel
Sam
Tom
George
Ned
Max
Nicolas
Timothy
Charles

(not Jason)
