I like it

FindingMeno · 23/06/2025 21:52

Beautiful!

MBL · 23/06/2025 22:06

I like it, I really like Clover, but the spread put me off (Flora is also nice to me and has a similar problem!)

Rainbow1235 · 23/06/2025 22:14

Love it

DramaAlpaca · 23/06/2025 22:15

The 'prim' bit is not nice.

Moreteaandchocolate · 23/06/2025 22:15

I don’t like the “prim” bit!

Junobug · 23/06/2025 22:17

I think it’s beautiful. My daughter’s middle name is Primrose. I have also met a Primrose who was shortened to Posy.

vincettenoir · 23/06/2025 22:18

I love it.

MrsPositivity1 · 23/06/2025 22:22

Oh I love it

AnneMarieW · 23/06/2025 22:28

Not a fan sorry, as just like similar Rosemary it still reads “buttoned up old lady” to me -plus even The Hunger Games can’t make “Prim” as a nickname cool.

Rose is so lovely though and I don’t dislike elaborations like Rosalie, Rosanna etc either (or Rosamund or Rosalind). I also like May which to me has similar vibes to Primrose as well.

JazzyJelly · 23/06/2025 22:51

Another one who immediately thinks of the little sister who dies in the Hunger Games books I'm afraid.

TheaBrandt1 · 23/06/2025 22:54

Not sure she’ll thank you as a teen. No one aspires to being prim !

shoopshoopdedoo · 23/06/2025 22:54

It’s too sickly-sweet for me. Adorable on a baby? Sure. But I’d hate to be called Primrose as an adult.

Rose is lovely.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 23/06/2025 23:03

Love it

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 23/06/2025 23:46

Primrose Shipman and Rosemary West. Lovely choices…

Why are ppl suggesting rosemary ….its awful!

I really like primrose go for it

I agree. It's a really old fashioned name and not in a good way. It's quite a frumpy name, unfeminine and associated mostly with old ladies. I can also imagine a strapping girl named Rosemary striding around in wellies at a Young Farmers event. Primrose on the other hand is v pretty and feminine.

LancashireButterPie · 24/06/2025 00:00

It's not my taste, sounds very twee.
Rose is gorgeous on its own.

All I think of is Primrose Everdeen - Hunger Games. (sorry.) Also the name of a cow (sorry)

And all I can think of is Primrose Hill on London.

EmiliaRuusuvuori · 24/06/2025 00:02

I know a Primrose, she's in her sixties and absolutely hates her name. She goes by Rosie.

monktasmic · 24/06/2025 00:05

I love Rosemary, Clover and Marianne which have a similar vibe I think. 2 of those were my choices but I opted for another name for dd2 and then we had a boy!

Rosemary
Clover

I think Rosie is a very likely nickname and certainly better than Prim!

TheDonsDingleberries · 24/06/2025 08:48

I'm not keen. My first association was a mouse in a children's book series called Brambly Hedge. Beautiful illustrations, but very twee.

Dandelionsand4leafclover · 24/06/2025 08:56

Awful, sorry I really don't like it
