If I shut my mind to all external influences, I quite like the sound. However, once I allow reality to seep in, I find myself screaming "no".

avenanap · 22/05/2008 12:41

Shelley. He was a poet/writer, married to Mary Shelley, writer of Frankenstein.

SmugColditz · 22/05/2008 12:41

no.

TheProvincialLady · 22/05/2008 12:41

Under no circumstances.

seeker · 22/05/2008 12:42

Why?

avenanap · 22/05/2008 12:43

Poor thing will be bullied for life. Mrs Bucket (keeping up apperances) called her son Sheldon. I think he was gay, he was never seen in the TV programme though.

EffiePerine · 22/05/2008 12:44

ahem, Shelley was his surname. You'd have to call him Percy

cheesesarnie · 22/05/2008 12:44

noooo.maybe they were saying shay but had something in there mouths??????

eenybeeny · 22/05/2008 12:45

thanks ladies but it isnt Shelley I am not a dunce!! its Shel Silverstien!!

OP posts:
avenanap · 22/05/2008 12:46

I know. His wife wouldn't have been called Mary Shelley if it was his first name. I quite like the name Shelley though

EffiePerine · 22/05/2008 12:46

ah, American

SmugColditz · 22/05/2008 12:46

Because it's horrible

EffiePerine · 22/05/2008 12:47

I'm rather fond of Percy. Would prob be unfair

avenanap · 22/05/2008 12:47

Sheldon Silverstien! What were they thinking?

southeastastra · 22/05/2008 12:48

i used to go to school with a sheldon

Nancy66 · 22/05/2008 13:19

It's not even a name - it's just a collection of letters.

jennifersofia · 22/05/2008 13:23

Shel Silverstein - fab author and generally cool kinda guy. But still wouldn't name my kid Shel.

Amandella · 22/05/2008 13:24

Ridiculous and unfair...

piratecat · 22/05/2008 13:35
