Both fine.

I prefer Hugh.
and I also like Leon, Leomin, Leonard and Leopold.

Hugo is often pronounced Heeeoogo, which isn’t nice imo

I really like Leo.

I don't like Hugo at all, but Hugh is nice.

DiscoBeat · 09/06/2025 13:33

Hugo! Lovely name

KayEmAy · 09/06/2025 15:28

Leo absolutely

midlifeattheoasis · 09/06/2025 16:54

Hugo

MrsSkylerWhite · 09/06/2025 16:55

Hugo.

Steakbreake · 09/06/2025 16:57

Hugo always gets called posh online I'm not sure why, the only Hugo I know his parents are the extreme opposite of posh

momtoboys · 09/06/2025 16:59

Love them both. I also am a fan of Huw, the Welsh spelling of Hugh.

Twelvelights · 09/06/2025 17:00

I like Hugh better than either.

I also wonder why some names get called ‘posh’ on here. Rupert, Hugo, Quentin, Sebastian etc are always called posh, yet I know a real mix of boys/men called these - I don’t know where this reputation comes from? Is it slowly changing?

PanderBare · 09/06/2025 17:20

@Zebralie , because some names might start off being used by the people thought of as 'posh' then they filter through to the mainstream.

Hugo and Sebastian are standard boys' names now, but if you've not heard them in your area, you might think they're 'posh'.

17caterpillars1mouse · 09/06/2025 19:44

Leo

I must admit Quentin and Sebastian do sound posh to me, I guess it depends on the ones you know. The only Hugo I know his parents were polar opposite of posh, same for the Henry's I know actually another name that is apparently "posh"

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 09/06/2025 23:18

Hugo, there are far too many Leos, not to mention about a million Theos

I do prefer Hugh though

GiddyCrab · 12/06/2025 23:50

Leo.
