Baby girl names

Hi,

Our baby girl is due in August and we're struggling to decide on a name we both like!

I really love Anneliese (and also the nn Annie), but DH isn't keen. He thinks it's too long and "posh". He prefers Elodie but I'm not so keen and I'm not overly keen on "El-" names in general, partly because of the possibility of these being shortened to Elle or Ellie as we have an Ellie in the close family.

We both like Ivy and had intended to use this as her middle name.

I would be really grateful for any suggestions for other names we could consider as I really am struggling to find any other names we both really like!

Annaliese is beautiful! I have met 2 over the years, the most lovely people. Solid name, not any more posh that Elodie.

Anneliese and Elodie nice, but I agree that they may become Annie and Ellie and that Annie is the nicer nn of the two.

I'm still holding out hope that DH comes around to Anneliese as I really do love it and it just feels like the one to me..! It may be that we could switch around and use Ivy as her first name!

I also like Eloise but have the same worry that it would end up being shortened to Elle and I also know quite a few Eloises too!

I would also really like just using Annie but it makes it tricky then to use Ivy too because of both ending with an -ee and I really love Ivy too!
