Thoughts on the name Seth? I really love it but it seems to be a marmite name

We also had Bramah on the list which is a form of Abraham.

I don’t like it.
to me it’s a very biblical name.
i only know one and they’re the least religious family ever which has always confused me.
it always feels quite abrupt and harsh. It’s one of
those names that doesn’t shorten to a nickname and doesn’t lend itself to being lengthened to one either.

I strongly dislike it. It sounds sort of slithery and lispy to me.

It was on my list but DH didn't like it. I've taught just one Seth.

Always been one of my least liked boys names. Sorry. I seem to be in the minority though.

Reminds me of the dark side of the Force, enemies of the Jedi....

But I am weird this way.

Generally, I like old testament names.

My first thought was Cold Comfort Farm too, but I wouldn't want to name a child after Seth Starkadder! Though maybe the version played by Rufus Sewell might persuade me, if there was any chance the child might turn out looking like that...

I have a Seth, so for what it’s worth I think it’s a great name!

I really dislike the sound and struggle to say it properly.

I think I struggle because the S and TH sounds are made so close together and my tongue struggles with that

Probably my least favourite name, sorry! But there will always be someone who doesn't like a name! For me it's just that I dislike the sound. I don't like Beth, Lilith, Judith, Elspeth, Meredith either.

I have a 9 year old called Seth who I call Sethie... maybe we know each other in real life!!!

I’ve got a now adult Seth. Always loved it, never regretted it. Never had any negative comments about my choice. On a rare occasion people have had difficulty pronouncing it though, Seff and Steff, which I’ve always thought odd
