Can’t compromise on a name

DH and I are expecting a baby, massive surprise as we both in our 40s and our kids are teens/adults.

DH has 2 children from previous relationships Lola and Kane

I have 3 children from my previous marriage Eleanor, Madeline and Thomas.

We don’t know what sex baby is and some names we both like aren’t usable (Isabella, Louis, Clara, Pippa).

My list is Amelie, Georgia and Francesca for girls, Edward, George and James for boys.

DH likes Freya, Nova, Alba and Lily for girls and Leon and Marcus for boys.

Does anyone have any names that we might both like as we are really struggling, all help appreciated!

I agree with @Enko , you need a traditional but (currently) less popular name. Also, your names are longer than his.

Could you choose a longer name, but have a shorter nn.

eg
Josephine, Josie
Victoria , Tori
Liliana, Lily
Lucinda, Lucy
Georgette,
Dorothy, Dotty
Penelope, Penny

His boy names are fairly classic
Daniel
Owen
Richard
Adam
Aiden
Samuel
Frederick

Theres an app that you can both download and you swipe on names and it pings when you both match on a name. You can then make a list of the names you both agree on.

Ive had this same problem with the added complication that the name had to be from my partners country whos names i really cannot stand. We found out the sex at 16 weeks and its only yesterday at 27 weeks we finally came to an agreement and even then it wasn't either of our first choice. Naming them is so hard especially when you're style is so different.

Apps called baby name together i think

How about Liliana for a girl? Marcus doesn't seem so different from your names, and if he likes short names maybe find one with a long version you like

I have to say that Lola and Kane vs
Eleanor, Madeline and Thomas is a comedy contrast.

I realise that’s not v helpful - I think you need one of those match you up apps

You seem to prefer longer, more classic names whereas your DH likes them short.

I think Anna would be ideal for a girl - it fits well with Madeline, Thomas and Kane (Cain) as being biblical but like Lola, is popular internationally. Phoebe or Sophie would work too but I think Anna is the better fit.

For a boy, I like Jude as a short, sweet traditional name. Max, Harry, Levi or Sam are my other suggestions.

Esther (nn Tessa if you want) - just why? 2 unrelated names, both 2 syllables.

Nina or Lucy for a girl? Leo for a boy?

I think Amelie and Lily sound quite similar. Seeing as he already has a DD whose name starts with L, he could compromise quite easily with Amelie.
Conversely, Marcus is quite classic, and fits in the naming theme of your existing DC, so maybe it wouldn't be too big a compromise for you? Or maybe Miles/Milo, or Robert/Rupert/Robin?
