Thought i’d start another one of these threads as I love to hear real names rather than ones we all like but wouldn’t use. So what are some recent names you’ve come across? Whether it’s the new baby of someone you know, one you heard in public, etc. share the age range if you like too!

I’ll start:
Sofia
Mabel
Indy
Pia
Ever
Maisy
Lillie
Maile

Emmanuel
Oliver
Edison
August
Jackson
Noah

my little boy is called terence after my dad who passed just before he was born. We always call him terry though and it’s absolutely suits him and is lovely old fashioned name. my girls are layla-rose (nearly 18 now) and sofia who is 15.

pamshortsbrokenbothherlegs · 21/05/2025 15:44

My husband was in a playground not too far from us (South London, though in a bougier area than us) the other week and texted me because he came across a Leonidas and a Sparrow. 😅

I met two baby Sennans recently.

Their mums just need to be wary of sending their DHs out to buy a 'Sennan cot', and instead of going to the bed shop, he goes to the pharmacy - especially if they've told him to spend at least £250 on it Grin

TeaAndToast8 · 21/05/2025 16:02

Sylvia age 4
Gretel age 2
Flossie age 2
Athena age 2
Janet age 5
These are all friends of mine grandchildren. I really like the name Sylvia and I think Gretel is very cute.
I don’t mind the name Janet but it reminds me of the girl from The Enfield Haunting.

WeAreNotOutnumbered · 21/05/2025 16:02

I came across a second baby Boaz recently. The previous one I knew would be around 5 now.

Otherwise I am doing GCSE invigilation (so students are 14-15 roughly) and there are multiples of Maisie; Lola; Elsie; Isla; Arlo; Noah, Theos etc. With the occasional Ben or Joshua and alot of Eve/Evie/Eva variants.

I love those names still. I recall how popular they were as well. My two boys (15 and 13 ) were very nearly Theo and Noah/Arlo and I still like that sort of vibe.
