Really nice. I think the way you're spelling it is the best and most classic with the single L and no E.

It will constantly get misspelled - Annabel, Anabelle, Annabelle, Anabel, Annabell….. and I’m speaking from experience!

I think it’s a portly kind of name, like George.

Good name. I know one who's in her early 30s now. Lovely woman. Never heard of the doll or horror film. This is a name that will still be in use 80 or 90 years from now. Will those associations still be there then? I doubt it.

I prefer just Anna.
Annabel is OK, but there are loads of -bel/belle/bella names around.
It will get the Annabelle spelling which is too frilly for me.

I had an Auntie Annie and never thought of the name as twee or sickly sweet. She was tall, pretty and feisty.

Lovely name! (Though personally I am a fan of the ‘frilly’ spelling ‘Annabelle’). It won’t date her and whilst I’ve heard of the film, it doesn’t make me think of that at all - I’m surprised so many people have said it does!
