A sister for Eliza?

Thoughts on this list of names please? DH and I like quite traditional names and have narrowed it down to this list.
Older sister is Eliza and middle name will probably be in honour of a family member so some variation of Eleanor/Nora/Leonora.

Baby girl is due in a month and I worry she may not have a name by then!

Anna (nn Nancy)
Alice
Astrid
Chloe
Constance (nn Connie)
Emily
Helena
Iris
Louisa
Lydia
Nina
Penelope
Phoebe
Rachel
Rose (or longer version Rosemary/Rosaline)
Sophie

All of your names,I love.

My favourites for sister Eliza..

Anna Leonora
Helena Louise or Rose
Phoebe Eleanor
Rachel Iris
Rosemary Leonor

I would say Alice (lovely, and a similar style of name to Eliza). Lydia or Sophie are also gorgeous and fit well.

Cedrabbage · 09/05/2025 14:22

I first thought you were having a boy so thought George. Georgina?

Why would you think that? The literal title of the thread is 'A sister for Eliza' and the first post mentions 'baby girl'??

Alice - such a lovely name and there aren’t that many around (I only know one).

All beautiful names.

I quite like the combination of:

Iris Eleanor/a

Lydia Eleanor (without the a as they would rhyme)

Contstance Eleanora / Leonora

ninjahamster · 09/05/2025 22:49

Nancy is gorgeous and the same vibe as Eliza.

CarriMarie · 09/05/2025 22:57

Alice Eleanor or
Phoebe Leonora

KayEmAy · 06/06/2025 19:43

I really like Anna (though not Nancy), Alice, Chloe, Penelope, Phoebe, Rose and Sophie

Favorite combos with your family name:

Sophie Elle
Phoebe Nora

I like Alice, Astrid, Emily, Helena, Iris, Lydia, Phoebe and Sophie. I suggest Rosalie.

PrincessOfPreschool · 08/06/2025 06:51

Some of them are a bit samey with Eliza, like Iris, individually beautiful but sounds awful with Eliza! Say the names out loud as a pair (this will happen frequently). I would say Helena and Eliza is also a bit of a mouthful (and key bad with all your middle names). Not keen on Alice or V Rachel alongside Eliza.

I like Constance, Phoebe. Anything with quite different sounds.

PrincessOfPreschool · 08/06/2025 06:56

Eliza and Louisa, way too samey. A lot of the names are, in sound, I think. Anna (Nancy much better), Chloe, Emily (almost the same!). You clearly like those sounds but I don't think they work together.

Rosemary works. Philippa could work too as an example of a name with different sounds in it.

inkblink · 08/06/2025 09:35

I like all your names (unhelpfu!). I'm adding in Adelaide

PrincessOfPreschool · 08/06/2025 21:17

I'm reading a book where Eliza's sister is called Anne. I also think Agnes is really lovely.

LostArrows · 08/06/2025 21:29

I was coming on to say Sophie before seeing your list. That's my top choice if we have second DD.
Our DD is Eliza Rose, so also think they go nicely together.

JustASmidgen · 08/06/2025 23:41

Eliza and Grace
Eliza and Lucy
Eliza and Alice
Eliza and Delphie
Eliza and Charlotte (Lottie/Charlie)
Eliza and Robyn

TheNinjaWife · 08/06/2025 23:49

Matilda and Eliza, although my favourite girls name is Phoebe.

user1492757084 · 09/06/2025 13:35

My faves ..
Eliza and ..

Phoebe Helena
Helen Louisa
Nancy Eleanor
Rachel Leonor
Rosemary Ellen
Sophie Eleanor
Anna Leonora

Helen is the same name base as Eleanor.
Phoebe means similar.
Some of the other names sound quite Zy and Sy - too alike Eliza for me, sorry.
