Sante for a boy?

Have four weeks to go and we have struggled with agreeing on a boys name for the last 30. Love the name Sante as a shortened version of Santiago. Thinking about just going for the shortened version as Santiago could be a bit of a mouthful and eyebrow raiser. But is Sante a real name, can't find it in any books?
Opinions welcome....

It's definitely Santi, I know one. He's Spanish. If you're okay with a Spanish name, it's fine.

Why not call him Bernard or Kennedy instead
