Only just pregnant so way to early to post this but I am bored. Grin

Opinions on my current name ideas. I like a longer name they can choose to play around with as they age.

Girls-
Harriet- we would use Hattie mostly.
Charlotte again we would mostly use Lottie

Boys-
Theodore which we would either use Teddy or Theo.
Oliver
Eric

TIA

Eric doesn't do it for me but the others are all lovely. I knew a Harriet nn Hatty at school - great nickname and nicer than Harry IMO.

MonsterBookOfTyson · 26/04/2025 19:05

Thanks Eric was my grandads name but not my favourite, I may use it as a middle name. Grin
I love Hattie, it's my favourite atm.

Love Theodore and Charlotte

or how about
Francesca, Genevieve, Alexandra, Eleanor, Abigail, Matilda, Delilah, Henrietta, Penelope, Isabelle, Madeleine, Annabella, Gabriella

Alexander, Maxwell, Harrison, Benjamin, Sebastian, Oliver, Greyson, Everett, Zachary, Nicholas, Nathaniel

Harriet - lovely
Charlotte - lovely

Theodore - lovely , but not Teddy as a nn . Every other baby and dog seem to be called Teddy nowadays.
Oliver - lovely
Eric - more unusual than other choices, better as a middle name

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 26/04/2025 19:31

I love Hattie and Lottie.

boys names I like: Henry, Alexander, Nathanial, Hugo, Louie.

I absolutely love the name Harriet - definitely would have considered it myself if not for a close family member with the same name, and I love Hattie for short.

All your other name ideas are nice too, although I think I’d need to meet a little Eric for that one to grow on me! And make sure you like Charlie as well as Lottie for Charlotte, as I know a few teens who’ve changed to Charlie from Lottie in secondary school (against parent’s preferences).

Oliver is massively over used round here and they are all “Olly surname” so that would put me off personally.

Do you like

Georgina (Georgie / Ginny / Gia)
Penelope (Penny / Nellie / Poppy / Polly)
Rosemary (Rosie / Romy)
Annabel (Annie / Belle / Bella)
Amelia (Milly / Mia / Amie)
Matilda (Tilly)

Sebastian (Seb)
Maxim (Max)
Zachary (Zach)
Tobias (Toby)
Nathaniel (Nate)
Alfred (Alfie / Freddie)

We loved Charlotte for DD2, due any day, but couldn’t bring myself to use a name currently in the top 10. It’s a beautiful name though. Harriet is lovely too.

I’ve always really liked Oliver. Not a huge fan of Eric or Theodore.

MonsterBookOfTyson · 02/05/2025 17:06

I like Penelope , have not considered that before and I love Georgia but we have a surname beginning with J so it sounds strange.

Harriet / Hattie is gorgeous!!

I actually really like Eric and would use that. Frederick may be a nice nod if you preferred that?
Otherwise Oliver / Olly would be 2nd choice!

I like Theo but we have loads at the nursery I work at

I've known too many Harriet's all were either Harry of Hatty. I like Charlotte but is very popular especially with the Princess named that. My hairdressers baby is called Arabella which I think is beautiful. My cousin is called Ariana which I also love. Theodore is a nice name but like someone else said Teddy's are everywhere and Theo as a name in it's own right is quite popular (I've known a few). Eric has always been a favourite of mine but no one else I know likes it. Very 'out there' but my fave boys name is Winston.
