But Eithne is its own name. Eth-na. Enya is En-ya

Lovely name - simple but pretty and interesting. But it’s a bit of an Adele situation - as afaik Enya is still fairly uncommon so you/she would probably get “like the singer?” every so often (though it would be unlikely from DD’s peer group!)

You could use the original Irish Eithne? spelling to get away from that but that might make her life more difficult (spelling/pronunciation wise).

Is that the original spelling?

This is really interesting. I honestly thought Enya was a sort of image/marketing name, like Bono.

But it's really quite pretty - and \i love that spelling, though can't begin to fathom it!
