Please help!

Which name is best?

Nina
Gaia
Anya
Genevieve (nickname Genie).

I really like Gaia but wondering if its a bit of a marmite choice? Is Nina a bit boring? Argh, so confused!!!

Other names I like:
Juliet
Honor
Frida

Gaia and Frida not common, but not weird, strong but feminine - would absolutely be my choice

KayEmAy · 04/03/2025 17:48

My favorites are Anya and Juliet

CarpetKnees · 04/03/2025 18:28

Anya or Nina for me

Or Juliet is nice enough.

Nina - fine, I agree it’s a bit boring
Gaia - love it. Would be on my list if my husband liked it
Anya - I like it but don’t love it. I work with a lot of Anias so feels a bit dull to me
Genevieve - don’t like it or Genie (or any of the other nicknames)
Juliet - really like Juliet
Honor - I don’t like it, can’t put my finger on why, but just a name I’ve never warmed to
Frida - second to Gaia on this list for me

Agree with this

They are all good. I’m partial to Nina, though. I like Genevieve but I can’t see how you get Genie out of it.

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 04/03/2025 18:44

I like Juliet and Genevieve, but not Genie as a nickname. Maybe Evie?

shoopshoopdedoo · 04/03/2025 18:57

Love Nina, Anya and Gaia. Probably in that order but I’d find it difficult to choose between them.

Like Juliet and Frida. Genevieve is OK - I like Genie but would worry about teasing, and the full name is a bit too much for me. I really don’t like Honor at all.

Cotswoldmama · 04/03/2025 19:00

I've always loved the name Nina

Mom2255 · 04/03/2025 19:03

Juliet

LostMyLanyard · 04/03/2025 21:03

Great list OP 👌🏻

Love them all, with a slight leaning towards Gaia and Frida (but I'd spell it Frieda).

Milodon · 04/03/2025 21:06

I love Anya and Genevieve but not genie as a nickname.

I like Gaia but I think a lot of people will pronounce it incorrectly.

Nina is a bit boring on its own. I prefer it as a nickname for something like Christina.

Username10099 · 04/03/2025 22:17

Anja.

Mudkipper · 04/03/2025 22:29

Love Gaia, Nina and Juliet. Detest Honor because the only one I’ve ever known was an awful person.

LilyJosephine · 04/03/2025 22:39

One of the few threads I’ve seen where I like almost all the names (I’m not quite as keen on the sound of Honor as your other picks, although I can see the appeal). We clearly have similar taste!

Have you considered Antonia? That can have the nn’s Anya or Nina so you’d be spoilt for choice with that on the BC.

Otherwise my top two would be Juliet and Gaia - so stunning, elegant and underused in this country. I would probably lean towards Juliet only as the slightly safer option - a few people don’t know how to pronounce Gaia and it doesn’t really have any nn’s (unlike Juliet with Jules/Letty) if for any reason she does dislike it.

My fave is Anya.
Doyou like Edwina?

mathanxiety · 05/03/2025 03:56

I love Juliet, Honor, Frida, and Genevieve.

Not keen on any of the others.

I especially love Frida.

flowerpop · 05/03/2025 12:53

This has been so helpful thank you all! Will discuss with DH.

Am emboldened to go with Gaia and pleasantly surprised people respond well to Frieda, could really see a little blonde toddler Frieda/Frida.

Honor is off the list. I love the shape of it written down but agree its harder to warm to then some of the others.
