Opinions on the name Jonah?

Feels like potentially a less popular Jude? Just not sure if it has the same charm in my opinion.

Oh I much prefer Jude! Feels way more crisp

I love it! So much so, I have one myself 🤣. He's 9. He loves his name. No nicknames here either. He's just Jonah.

Love it. I also like Jude but prefer Jonah.

I immediately think of "and the whale."

Oh Jonah is a brilliant name.

It's full of character and your baby Jonah would grow into a really interesting person.

I.used to really like Jude but not so much now. Tbh I think Jude Law put me off it rather.

Whale and bad luck. It's still much better than Jude.

Not for me. The bad luck connotations and that people say it to someone who is not wanted to be around eg. 'ah clear off, you're a right Jonah!'.

In all my life I have never heard anyone say this phrase! …anyway @HollyYates i love the name!

i know a couple of little ones, really like it. I didn't know it is supposedly unlucky. and neither will his peers I imagine.

I think “won’t care” is possibly more accurate than “won’t know” @Emanwenym.

Delilah is very popular, despite the Biblical connotations (and those bloody songs by Tom Jones and The Plain White T’s).

Jasper is apparently a colloquial term for wasp in some areas of the UK, hasn’t put people off the name overall.

I love the Tom Jones song but not the name.
