@user1492757084 Dashiell is a name that I love. However, I had never heard of it as a name, as for example, Dashiell Hammett, until it was too late, so never had the opportunity to seriously consider using it.

I never realised it until writing that, but I think I have a fondness for writers' names.

I really like it. (Like Oberon too, and Orlando - so much untapped boys name potential in Shakespeare)
I think teasing about names is very overstated on here - there is such a diversity of names in schools these days and kids just accept them for what they are in my experience. I’d love to meet a little Auberon.

I think you can do better in terms of an 'out there' name, and this isn't the one.
