Jordan or Mikele

I think Mikele is lovely to honour your husbands heritage x

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 07/02/2025 21:40

I know lots of lovely little Jordans and the Katie Price link is getting weaker and weaker. She's just not going to be relevant in a few years, she never goes by that anymore anyway.

Jordan sounds the best to me.
I would never use the others.

Inspired from your list, how about ..
Michael
Marcel
Malachi
Riccardo
Matteo
Tommaso
Santino
Cassio
Dante

There are nicer Italian boys names out there, without needing to change the spelling (which really dilutes the reason for choosing it imo). He'll forever explain "it's Italian", only to be met with "no it's not".

Jordan is ok at a push, likewise Morgan, although both feel dated to the late 90s/early 00s. I really dislike Logan though. So many people seem to shorten it to Logie, which rhymes with bogey and is therefore truly terrible.

Katie Price hasn't been known as the stage name Jordan for the past 20 years or so, so I really doubt that will be an issue.

Catandsquirrel · 08/02/2025 11:56

I wouldn't choose Mikele. The Italian for Michael is Michele. Michelle is a girl's name. If you think there may be confusion with Michele and want an Italian boy's name, pick one you are happy with and think will work easily, don't butcher one.

Others a bit naff, Jordan etc. fine if you love but there are much nicer names out there

Alessio, Alessandro, Carmine, Matteo, Ettore, Alfio

You are right, but we changed it because it would be michele which is a girls name

Then it's not a nod to your DH's heritage. You might as well spell it Mickailay.

bradypuss · 08/02/2025 17:39

Morgan ...unless you have a surname that could also be a first name .that leads to confusion

Most Italians actually spell it as michele or mikele it's like Sophia or Sofia

Isn't that a bit like spelling Caitlin as Katelyn (i.e. naff)?

What is it about Katie price and this name, is it considered a chavv name in the Uk?

It was her lads mag nickname, when she first became famous mostly for one thing (well two things) that's the name she was known by.

Wishing4Snow · 10/02/2025 14:21

I like Morgan the best from your list. 😊

comoatoupeira · 10/02/2025 14:22

Michael in Italian is Michele, not Mikele. In Italian, a ch is like 'k'.

HugoYorway · 10/02/2025 17:40

Like in kianti, conkiglie and gnocki?

chattyness · 10/02/2025 17:44

I like Morgan & Logan best

Rainplops · 10/02/2025 17:47

Logan. Really don't like the mangling of Michael/Michele/Mikakkaiiaekale.

I like the thought of honouring the Italian heritage, but wonder if Mikele might be shortened to Mick, which strikes me as a funny name for a little one. I dont particularly like any of your other choices, they're all very of their time.

LochKatrine · 26/02/2025 12:26

Jordan is an awful name.
How about Michael?
Matthew, Lucas, Caleb, Nathan, Max.

HugoYorway · 26/02/2025 12:26

I'd say it compares to Cillian and Killian, Madeleine and Madelyn, Gillian and Jillian or Jane and Jayne, and one version is classic and the other a bit modern but a bit naff.
The others are acceptable spellings of traditional names.

HugoYorway · 26/02/2025 12:32

What's wrong with Mick? It could be Mic or Mik, or Mika or Mike.

Nothing wrong at all with Mick! I just couldn't imagine a "baby Mick"! Mick conjures up thoughts of my dad's mates down the pub! I suppose all names come back around though don't they.

@LeopardsANeutral One of dad's mates down the pub sums it up perfectly.
