I think Amy is an appropriate short version of Amelia. Millie is too.

nickytwotimes · 07/05/2008 19:56

Lovely names. No, I don't think it will confuse anyone.

Hulababy · 07/05/2008 19:57

Shortened versions can be however you want them to be

Amy seems an appropriate shortening of Amelia.

kitson08 · 07/05/2008 19:58

I like the spelling Amiee better than Amy.Esp if you are shorting it from Amelia.I love that name.

Think it's fine

Aimee is a nice shortening and we have two children at school called this.

jessikart · 07/05/2008 23:08

Agree with Hulababy - shortened names can be however you want. I know an Amy whose 'real' name is Naomi and no one blinks an eyelid!

Bucharest · 08/05/2008 15:53

Why don't you just call her Amy? I don't see the point of Amy=Amelia. Amy Elizabeth sounds better than Amelia Elizabeth as well.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 08/05/2008 15:58

Bucharest, nice MN name, how did you choose it?

Sorry, i should have made it clear I was asking Bucharest. I was hoping I'd met a fellow Romanian on MN

I like Amy Elizabeth. Our DD2's middle name is Elizabeth and it gets shortened to Bootsy.
