Hi Guys, currently in my first trimester, I'm about 3 1/2 weeks pregnant, very excited & awaiting my first midwife appointment.

My Dad passed away in 2021, his name was Edmund (Eddie) Francis and my partners grandad passed away in 2017, his name was James (Jimmy). If I'm having a boy I would love to name him after these two amazing men. So I'm playing with some first & middle names and can't decide if they sound okay or are too much? or if anyone has a different idea ive not thought of, that would be a big help. let me know what you think ...

Eddie James
Jimmy Ed
Eddie Jimmy
Jimmy Eddie
Ed James
James Ed

Edmund James and call him Eddie.
Both nice solid classic names.
James Edmund is nice too but Jimmy isn't as nice as Eddie.
Schools always ask what they should call the child so they would call him Eddie if that's what you usually used.

I'd choose Edmund James or James Edmund personally, both lovely names, but here are my thoughts (FWTW!) on your list:

Eddie James - this is the nicest from your selection
Jimmy Ed - sounds incomplete. Jimmy Edmund sounds better
Eddie Jimmy - awful, sorry!
Jimmy Eddie - even worse!
Ed James - OK but I think there is an author with this name. Actually just googled and there is, plus there is also EL James who wrote 50 Shades
James Ed - sounds incomplete.

Edmund James (Eddie)
James Edmund (Jimmy)
Eddie James

I don't like the double ie endings of Jimmy Eddie or Eddie Jimmy. I work in education and having just "Ed" as a middle sounds like an abbreviation of "education" to me - Home Ed. / Primary Ed. / Jimmy Ed.

Jamie is a lovely name if you have a girl

Or James Francis - Jim, Jaffa, JFK - if K is your surname.

I would go Edward James nickname Eddie just so he does have a name that is actually his very own but Edmund James is lovely too!

Edmund James or James Edmund

Edmund James on bc but known as Eddie day to day. We have done this with both children and had no problems with school.
