So far we've got:

Eleanor
Alexandra
Frances
Madeline
Catherine

Alexandra is my favorite, but DP has an ex by that name and isn't too keen.

Waddya think?? Any more suggestions?

Love Francis

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 04/05/2008 13:04

Sorry Frances

LaDiDaDi · 04/05/2008 13:08

I don't like Frances but like any of the others with Eleanor probably having the edge.

eidsvold · 04/05/2008 13:08

what about tweaking the Alexandra to Alexandria.

I like Eleanor and Frances.

eenybeeny · 04/05/2008 13:10

Eleanor is my favourite. Hate to say it but Madeline would just make me think of that poor little girl though its a shame as its a beautiful name!

Izzywhizzy · 04/05/2008 13:11

I know what you mean about Madeline. I get that reaction from a lot of people when I mention it as an option. Poor little girl

Alexandra is quite nice.

eenybeeny · 04/05/2008 13:13

Izzy I would just steer away from that name. You dont want people sighing in sadness every time they think of your beautiful DD.

flack · 04/05/2008 13:17

Catherine, because I like the nicknames best.
Eleanor (Ellie) as 2nd choice.

Jacanne · 04/05/2008 13:27

I wouldn't steer clear of the name Madeleine - I think it would be ridiculous for everyone to "sigh in sadness" everytime they heard it - there are plenty of Madeleines out there and it's a lovely name.

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/05/2008 13:27

Madeleine (spelt this way, not your way).

Tommy · 04/05/2008 13:42

I like all of them - "proper" names as my Mum would call them

theaevie · 04/05/2008 13:43

Dh and I loved both Madeleine and Alexandra, however when we saw all three of our girls none of them really suited the names we had chosen.

Instead we have a
Thea
Evie
Mae

Beautiful names for three beautiful girls.

When you see you child, I think you know instantly. Well, we did.

Happy choosing!

Catherine, but with a K, so you can have Kitty as a nickname...so pretty!

I like them all. I like Catherine with a C, if it was with a K I would shorten to Kate (not Katie and definitely not Kitty)

janeite · 04/05/2008 17:44

Elinor is my favourite (that spelling).

BigBadMouse · 04/05/2008 17:48

Eleanor but it is very common down here so just check in your area if that would bother you.

I prefer Katherine with a K too.

Other than that I love Megan and Margot
