Hey , we have a lovely little girl called Mavis. I am really struggling with names I like that fit the same vibe as Mavis open to all kinds of suggestions. We don't know what we're havint but more sure of a boys name (Frank) but still open on that one too ! Thank you 😊

I used to watch The Next Step with my daughter, and there was a girl on that called Davis..... Grin

Mavis and Mona

Another suggestion to add to my list:

Lucia (either with soft c, or Italian way with hard c)

Inspired by the Mapp and Lucia books. Love the names from this era.

My favourite books! I just love Lucia!
(Although her name is Emmeline, but we forgive her 😊)

I think people are taking the p with suggestions of Rita and Derek.

I personally can't bear 'themed' name pairs.

I also think it's unkind on threads like this to post such suggestions with no context in case the op is unaware and then faces a lifetime of 'Rita and Mavis! LOL' type comments.

we used to have rabbits called Derek and Mavis

Absolutely lovely for pets!

Our dog is called Sybil and if we ever get another, we'll absolutely get a male and call him Basil 😂 No way would I miss such an opportunity.

BUT to unknowingly do that to your children...eek!

Oh, I genuinely think Rita and Mavis are perfect together. I don't know of them in a pair in any context so didn't make a connection. Sorry.

It’s a Coronation Street reference. I also think Thelma and Mavis go well but please no for same reasons. I’ve never watched Coronation Street but she is one of the most well known characters. Probably why my brain has automatically put those two names together😆

Can't believe some of the names being suggested here. Joyce! Brenda! That's just cruel.

That's not cruelty, just a difference of opinion. I think Archie, Albie and Alfie are awful names, but they're very popular. Same with Poppy, Daisy Lottie and Dottie.

But you've got to think of the poor child growing up 😟

I do. Imagine growing up being called Dottie, or Sonny.
