Hi,

If we were to use the Scandinavian version of Beatrice - which form suits the UK better? (We live in England)...

Beata or Beate?

(Bay-ah-ta/Bay-ah-teh)

Beate is a very old fashioned name! Not sure if it's due a revival any time soon...

I think Beata is more likely to be pronounced correctly in the UK. I used to have a Polish flatmate called Beata, so I knew that it was bay not bee, but you might have to tell some people the first time they meet her.

I'd go Beata.
Many people are able to say Beatrice so I think it will be ok.
Assume you or DP are actually Scandanavian, otherwise I wouldn't.
