I haven’t heard this name often. What do you think?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Harvestfestivalknickers · 03/11/2024 12:26

Is it a name? Sounds like a small town.

WrongSortOfPoster · 03/11/2024 12:26

Male name from Game of Thrones.

Squirrelsnut · 03/11/2024 12:27

In Game of Thrones it's a male name, I think.
It makes me think of Renfield, Dracula's creepy assistant.

sprigatito · 03/11/2024 12:27

I've seen it spelt Wrenleigh online

It's not for me

rosydreams · 03/11/2024 12:27

remi is cute or renata or renee

DefinitelyNotMaybe · 03/11/2024 12:27

How about Wren?

Purplecatshopaholic · 03/11/2024 12:27

Eh? That’s not an actual name is it? If it is, it shouldn’t be..

GildedRage · 03/11/2024 12:34

Wren-Leigh
Wren is lovely
Leigh is lovely
as a first and middle name lovely
Renley/Renly weird

Attelina · 03/11/2024 12:36

Serendipity and Wren as a nickname is less ridiculous.

Renley sounds like a small town.

Waterboatlass · 03/11/2024 12:41

Not a fan

Agreed. Could be a hamlet in Warwickshire, Renley-upon-Avon? Possibly a suburb in Croydon. Not a girl's name.

Moreteaandchocolate · 03/11/2024 12:50

I love the sound of it - not heard it before. Love Ren / Wren for short. Only thing is you might get some initial reactions as above that it’s made up or not a real name, if that bothers you?

CaptainMyCaptain · 03/11/2024 12:50

Neither Renley or Renly sound like a real name and Renly looks like a spelling mistake.

JFDIYOLO · 03/11/2024 12:50

Poor kid.

lazytoday · 03/11/2024 12:50

Not keen. It sounds like a made up name from two other names.

MaggieBsBoat · 03/11/2024 12:52

Made up by George R R Martin?

Not great imo.

Wren?

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 03/11/2024 12:55

I like it.

Better than another Amelia-Mae.

Renley was a GoT character. Nice bloke. No reason why it shouldn’t be a girls’ name.

embolass · 03/11/2024 12:56

Made up daft name is my immediate thought-sorry. Just pick something normal, think of the child

HazelSquid · 03/11/2024 12:57

Sounds alright to me but I’d spell it with a W so she can be Wren if she wants to be.

MissHavershamReturns · 03/11/2024 12:57

No!

HiccupHorrendousHaddock · 03/11/2024 12:59

Baratheon?

NeckolasCage · 03/11/2024 13:00

Oh please!

It isn’t a name, it’s a fairly depressing made up word used as a name. For a man. In a book.

It is objectively horrible which also doesn’t help. Honestly, would you want to be called Renly?

Just call her Sophie and stop with the thinking, you are very bad at it.

LynetteScavo · 03/11/2024 13:02

I've known it spelled Wrenleigh, and it's quite American. Never met any UK children with any variation of the name.

Still sounds like a town name!
