Is Franklin too old fashioned?!?

Until recently I always thought of it as American but my friend told me it was very old fashioned and not a nice sounding name.

my dp is set on this name, I prefer Frank but he is set on Franklin.

two weeks to go please help us to decide

It has a tease -ability rating, unfortunately! ( An activity which rhymes with Frank)

There are loads of Franks around, so I don’t think it’s going to be a huge issue

I love it! It's a family name of mine and I would definitely use it. Shortened to Frank, Franco or Frankie. It also means 'wealth' in American colloquial language so could be seen as lucky.
I think it could even be suitable for both sexes.
