You've listed them in my order of preference

Alexander is my favourite.

I like Fraser but what I will say is, knowing a few, they can get weird pronunciations from people...My preference is Fray-zer but they often get Fray-jur or Fray-jee-ur (like Fraiser the TV show).

Personal choice would be Alexander. Also has lots of common abbreviations aswell such as Alex.

Moreteaandchocolate · 09/09/2024 13:08

I really like all three! Alexander is my favourite- such a timeless classic. Zachary is also a brilliant name and one I considered using as it’s got that nice combination of a classic yet modern-sounding vibe, and is also familiar but not quite as commonly used as Alexander.

MumChp · 09/09/2024 13:10

Fraser, no.
The two others are beautiful.

User6761 · 09/09/2024 16:43

Love Alexander and Fraser, and both go well with middle name and surname. Strong Scottish vibe! Not so keen on Zachary personally but nothing wrong with it.

CookieMonster28 · 09/09/2024 16:45

Zachary and Fraser. Not keen on Alexander.

NewtonsCradle · 09/09/2024 16:55

Neil Alexander McClement
Neil Zachary McClement
Fraser Neil McClement
I think 3 syllables is a lot for both the first and second name but I imagine he'd become Alex or Zack quite quickly. They're all good names.

tealsea · 09/09/2024 17:01

If you’re in Scotland Fraser won’t get any weird pronunciations (at least I’ve never heard any). It’s a very popular name amongst teenagers/young men here (west coast) but I’ve not seen many baby/toddlers with it lately. I’d say definitely Fraser or Alexander.

spaceshooter · 09/09/2024 17:04

First one.

Fraser I don't like.

Zachery too American.

UmopapIsdn · 09/09/2024 17:33

Alexander for sure

Nicebloomers · 09/09/2024 18:29

Fraser Neil is a great name. Alexander runner up. Zachary is my least favourite.

FayCarew · 09/09/2024 18:51

Fraser.
Alex McCl and Zac McCl have too many K sounds. Zac Mac?

Fraser might get Frasier a bit if you're not in Scotland.

I like Neil.

TeamPolin · 09/09/2024 19:19

Alexander Neil McClement sounds awesome. Very distinguished!

Fraser is also nice.

Zachary would be way down the bottom of the list.

Me too. Alexander is an underrated name IMO.

arlequin · 09/09/2024 19:40

Love Alexander but know soooooo many

17caterpillars1mouse · 09/09/2024 20:10

Love Zachary. It was on my shortlist.

Alexander is a solid classic with many nn options

Not a fan of Fraser at all, sorry

NewPinkJumper · 09/09/2024 20:15

Thanks folks, Alexander is my favourite and this is convincing me more it's a good choice :)

Alexander

rainingsnoring · 09/09/2024 21:21

Alexander is great! Zachary is fine. Not keen on Fraser.

89redballoons · 09/09/2024 22:02

I've got a 2 year old Alexander and I love his name. It's classic, international, and has lots of good nicknames for him to choose when he's older.

He goes by Alex to most people, Ally-Bally sometimes to me, Alexand-wich to his 4 year old brother sometimes.

When he was a day old I told the midwife his name and she said "aww, you can rely on an Alex!"

The only thing that gave me pause when naming him was that Alexander is in something like the top 20 names by popularity, whereas my DS1's name is outside the top 300. DS1 is one of two in his school year and we've met several others, whereas I don't think I've met another boy called Alex under the age of 5.

Go for Alexander!

theduchessofspork · 09/09/2024 23:38

Far too many baby Alexes around at the moment so I’d go for Zachary

Zach McClement sounds very good too

I don’t like Fraser

theduchessofspork · 09/09/2024 23:40

spaceshooter · 09/09/2024 17:04

First one.

Fraser I don't like.

Zachery too American.

Zachary is a biblical name, there’s nothing especially American about it

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 09/09/2024 23:53

Rare I like all the choices 🤣 , but I think first would be Alexander as I love a timeless “can’t go wrong” classic (assuming you like the nn’s too as it will get shortened).

Close second choice Fraser - very cool sound, very Scottish (although no nn options if he doesn’t like it).

I don’t think Zachary flows quite as well with your surname as they are both 3 syllables- although “Zack Mack” is really memorable!
