How do I tell some family members and friends that if we have a boy we are not calling him Noel?

Just because the baby is due in December doesn't mean I have to call the baby a christmassy name.

What can I say as they are driving me nuts? I don't fancy another 8 months of this.

BTW Nothing wrong with Noel, its just not for us.

Say you're going to call him Jesus.

Would never call a baby Holly. SIL is called Holly.

I might do that though. It's all I have heard for the last week.

Do they really think they'll have a say in the naming of your baby? .

I've already told my mum that I won't be telling anyone our baby's name until it's registered. I know she'd put me off if it wasn't to her taste.

Now that you mention it though - I do like Holly but would only ever use it for a near-Christmas baby. Must add it to my list.

Tell them that if the baby is overdue, you will be calling him/her Balthazar, Gaspar, or Melchior.

kayzisexpecting · 18/04/2008 09:28

MIL thinks she does yes. She still occasionall mentions that DS should have been called something 'normal' and he is 13 months old.

Tell her the baby will be Judas or Ivy.

Actually Jude is a pretty cool name

kayzisexpecting · 18/04/2008 09:32

I think I quite like Balthazar that should give them something to think about.

Makingdo that is my problem with Noel. I think of that program he did with Mr Blobby where the place was called 'Crinkly Bottom'
