Lewis goes but I Louis is hard to say with your surname.

Agree with this - I find Louis with your surname a bit of a tongue twister, but Lewis much easier to say. Maybe it's an accent thing.

Is it Lewis or Lewee?

Louis is Louie

Lewis is Lewis

Anyway I quite like it OP

I find Louis Langley far easier to say than "Lewis" Langley. I also think the Louis pronunciation sounds far nicer with the surname Langley.

Louis Langley sounds great, imo.

CuriousGeorge80 · 28/08/2024 03:16

I really like it as Louis (not Lewis).

I ageee with a pp that it sounds like a superhero’s name, but I think that’s great!

I'm in the minority of thinking it's not the best of matches. Louis is lovely and I'm fine with the alliteration, it's the rhyming which makes it a tongue twister for me. Especially as they're both two syllables.

Lewis Langley flows better
Luke Langley?

kitsuneghost · 28/08/2024 12:34

I sound like a broken radio saying it

KirstenBlest · 28/08/2024 14:26

Tongue -twister. Lewis Langley is ok.

Louis Langley is cool.

It reminds me of the Victorian woman of history - Lillie Langtry.

Louis is Lou-ee
Lewis is Lew-iss

MerryMarys · 29/08/2024 13:44

Louis is pronounced Lou-ie in French.

Unfortunately it is pronounced phonetically as Lou-is in many other languages.

I think Louie is becoming the more popular spelling in the UK because of these issues with pronunciation

KirstenBlest · 29/08/2024 23:42

The pronunciation of Louis is extremely difficult. If only somebody truly well-known had used it for their child. Even somebody famous's grandchild would do.

Out of interest, what are these other languages?

Was that Louie Cat 'Orse French?
