Anna is pretty. I think Anya is harsh.

My daughter is Anya so I'm biased. It's never been shortened to 'Ann' whereas Anna may be. Not sure if that's important to you.

If you go Annabel you could then choose between Anna and Anya when you want

ania—same pronunciation. it’s the polish spelling

This was my first thought too!

I love the name Anna but personally wouldn’t use it with the surname Green.

Anya is lovely and more unusual, I’d choose that.

But Anne of green gables is great so not a bad thing to be associated with. I don’t think I would let that put me off.
