Hi

we are expecting a little girl and have 2 boys. They are Oliver and Joshua. I feel there are so many girls names I like, but just don’t know what goes with the boys names. Suggestions welcome 🥰🥰

Abigail

@SuchGreatFun that is such a lovely name, but a family member who sadly passed was called Abigail, so doesn’t feel right to use it.

i like Alice and Amber, but get so overwhelmed when looking at the suggested names!

Oliver and Joshua are both lovely and very normal/standard names, almost anything will 'go' with them, certainly Alice and Amber are both fine.

Just pick a name you love and don't worry about it matching the boys' names.

LizzeyBenett · 25/08/2024 14:25

Imogen it's such a lovely name but not one you come across that often

Firsttimebabymummy · 25/08/2024 15:09

Alice goes well.

Emily
Emma

It doesn't have to go with the boys' names, but both names are three syllables. I'd avoid an El or Al name as you could end up with Olly and Ellie/Allie even if you have no intention of shortening the names. I'd also avoid names like Molly, Holly and Polly.

SaintHonoria · 25/08/2024 15:37

Amber is a beautiful name.

I also like

Eloise
Louise
Penelope/Penny

I used to babysit brothers called Oliver and Joshua, in the mid-90s. They later gained a little sister who was named Natalie.

KimKardashiansLostEarring · 25/08/2024 16:58

Ah. I have 2 boys and a girl, it’s the best.

Oliver and Joshua are pretty highly ranked and both have the O sound.

Florence/Flora
Cleo
Juno
Margo
Nora

Margo or Cleo would be my choice but I think Florence goes the best!

NCfor24 · 25/08/2024 16:59

My boys have similarly classic names and my girl is Lucy which I think works well.

I'd have a Nancy I think, if another girl came along.

For Oliver and Joshua, I would stick with another 'contemporary classic' name - very popular over the last couple of decades, well established, very well liked, not at all controversial, unusual or 'out there'. Names like:

Annabelle, Amelia, Bethany, Beatrice, Charlotte, Chloe, Daisy, Darcey, Eleanor, Emily, Freya, Florence, Georgia, Grace, Holly, Hannah, Isabel, Imogen, Jessica, Jasmine, Katie, Katherine, Lily, Lucy, Madeleine, Matilda, Ottilie, Phoebe, Penelope, Rosie, Ruby, Sophie, Scarlett, Thea, Victoria, Violet, Zoe, Zara
