April for a girl?

We love the name April for a girl but are a bit worried about it also being a month... would an April born in say, March be weird? Would you expect April to be born in April?

Am I overthinking 🫣

I would assume she was born in April.

I think that most people with May/Mai/Mae aren’t born in May but strangely I’d expect an Autumn, April or June to be born at that time of year. I don’t know why but maybe it’s because May is often a middle name 🤔

I love the name & wouldn’t assume the baby had been born in April.

Thanks everyone, I'm glad the majority aren't thinking an April birth. My husband thinks I'm overthinking but don't want to leave her with a problem / constant questions!

He said you wouldn't expect an India eg to be born in India but I felt like April was a bit different.

Great point a PP made on June though, wouldn't expect her to be born in June.

I knew an April born in January. I counted back 9 months though and I suspect the month of April was still relevant 😂

April is lovely. It's not overly unusual as a name and they can't all be born on April! Actually, I would find an April born in April a bit naff. Born in any other month though, I say go for it!

I've taught a May not born in May, and a Winter born in the summer (that one I did find a tad odd to be honest).

I quite like the name, but sadly, a girl I knew called April (some 30 years ago,) had it shortened to 'ape' by cruel boys at school.

Oh and don't worry about when she is born (if you do go with 'April.') My neighbour had a DD and called her Winter. She was born in May.

I wouldn't assume she was born in April, but if people did make that assumption it does it really matter? The most it would lead to is "so, were you born in April?" "No, in February my parents just liked the name" "oh okay"
Like its not gonna be a big deal and hardly going to happen frequently. If you did name her February she might get more questions but April is a nice normal name.

Avril is really dated

I think it would be odd for a baby not born in April. She would get questions about it her whole life.

April is gorgeous . I know a lovely April who is in DDs class. Now I would assume she had an April birthday but I wouldn't find it strange or anything. It's a lovely name.

April is one of my favourite names. I'd never assume an April had been born in the month of April.

Haven't heard it being used very much but there was a little girl on my train last week called April and hearing her mum call her name really made me smile. It's just a lovely name!
