Irish Boys’ Names - Ronan or Fintan?

Husband and I are on the fence with boys names - have always loved Ronan (it’s also a family name) but recently have started to consider Fintan. Husband is leaning towards Fintan.

We live in Ireland.

Any advice on deciding would be appreciated!

Ronan is my favourite full name but I love the shortening “Finn” for Fintan, so it’s a tie for me! Sorry not to be more help and good luck choosing!

Both these names are in my top 5. I’m leaning towards Ronan

Eunan is another unusual one in that vein, as is Senan…I’ve only ever met one Eunan, lots of Ronans, a couple of Fintans. The Aer Lingus planes have some really unusual Irish names: there must be a list somewhere, think they are ancient saints names.
