  1. Thoughts on both names?
  2. Which one do you prefer more?

Definitely prefer Clementine! Churchill's wife!!!!

I don’t hate them but wouldn’t choose either. Agree that Colette sounds dated.

To me there’s something a bit naff about -ette endings.

I prefer Clementine

but I also like Cosette

Jemimapinotduck · 09/07/2024 19:06

Colette

I'd probably go for Colette but honestly neither.

My friend is a Clementine (Clemmy) and extremely beautiful and cool. Still the name Clemmy makes me think of phlegmy and clammy. If she can't carry it off I can't imagine who could!

Colette sounds like an old lady and not in a good way.

I like Cosette as suggested by a PP. Or if we're going with the C theme what about Carla?

CakeRattleandRoll · 09/07/2024 23:32

Colette. (I don't see it as dated at all.)

Bettedaviseyes111 · 09/07/2024 23:35

Love Clementine, I would have had it for a girl.

Collette is pretty too though.

MrsMoastyToasty · 09/07/2024 23:43

Clementine reminds me of oranges and I'm a bit meh about Collette.
I prefer Celeste and Carenza.

I think Colette would be lovely and fresh-sounding now, though it was possibly mildly popular a few decades ago.

Clementine I love, as it was my pony's name. She was Clem-en-tyne. Though I sometimes used the French pronunciation of clay-mon-teen . I don't like the hybrid pronunciation of clem-en-teen. It sounds wrong.

Not keen on either of them. Neither are bad but Clementine is long and makes me think of an orange fruit. Clemmie makes me think clammy. Colette seems a bit dated.

Yes I agree with this
