Has anyone else found this?

The only names he likes are

Teddy (Edward, Ted) - I feel this is very popular and not for me tbh
Woody - a no from me
Zack

I love the names

Milo
Otis/Otto
Cosmo

Any suggestions please? Have really struggled with boys names, more so than will our daughter

I don’t think it matters whose surname baby is getting.

I’m surprised you think Ted is too popular but suggested Oscar. I’d agree that Finn seems to fit both of your styles; but that’s popular too.

I’ve got 2 boys, and they have a name from each of your lists! The other boy name I like is Raffy in case that helps…..

StormingNorman · 29/06/2024 12:44

Nico? As a compromise between your two styles.

Christopher nn Kit.

Jake
Elliot
Benjamin
Theodore

Cutesy names are fine when they are small but do consider a grown man.

I MUCH prefer your names, in fact I love them all, especially Cosmo!

I find your dh's names cutesy and overused/dull! And Woody is an erection.

Just shows how different name tastes are!!

How about

Orson
Quentin
Reuben
Marcus

Jude can be a nickname for Julian. Famously "Hey Jude" was written for Julian Lennon.

My suggestion of Theodore was slightly tongue-in-cheek, but only because OP said she liked Theo and her DH liked Ted. Some people do have more than one shortening/nickname. I know an Alexander who is Alex at home but Xander elsewhere. Another bloke I know is called Jonathan by his parents, but is Jon at work and Jonty to his friends.

KirstenBlest · 30/06/2024 14:43

@M4driver , Paul McCartney wrote Hey Jude as "Hey Jules," a song meant to comfort John Lennon's 5-year-old son Julian as his parents were getting a divorce. The change to "Jude" was inspired by the character "Jud" in the musical Oklahoma!
