ButterflyWings13 · 22/06/2024 22:53

Baby number two is on the way and I really need some help with names. I already have a Dexter Alan. If we have a girl the middle name will be Elizabeth but no clue on a middle for a boy.

First names I like for a girl are:
Heidi or Ivy

Boys I have no clue everything I suggest my OH doesn't like because he knows a not very nice someone with the name

Please help!

Thanks

Dexter has a kind of quirky or surname sort of feel to me -so a similar style to me might be:

Flynn
Wyatt
Sullivan
Bennett
Maxwell
Finn/Phineas
August
Felix
Rufus
Casper

I think both Heidi and Ivy go lovely with Dexter and with Elizabeth as a middle name.

Asher
Bennett
Brody
Calvin
Cosmo
Cyrus
Ellis
Flynn
Jago
Jasper
Magnus
Maxwell
Micah
Nico
Otis

Is Alan a family name? Is there another you’d consider for a DS?

SkaneTos · 22/06/2024 23:39

Heidi Elizabeth and Ivy Elizabeth both sounds lovely.

For a boy
Derek Otto
Mathias Eric
Hector Sam
Garrett Axel/Gareth Axel

ButterflyWings13 · 22/06/2024 23:45

@SkaneTos I like Axel

@ajanifear Alan was my Grandads name. I'm thinking maybe James or Arthur this time both family names

Ivy is lovely

James is quite easy to pair with most things as a middle name so sounds like a good choice:-

Dexter and...

Isaac James
Oscar James
Leo James
Nathan James
Maxwell James
Lucas James
Flynn James
Harvey James
Ethan James
Roman James

I think they all have the same 'cool' vibe as Dexter.

AngelDelightButNotStrawberry · 23/06/2024 06:50

Not a fan of Ivy at all, plus it’s so popular and just blends into all the millions of Avas and Evies. I like Heidi.

Dexter is quite cool so needs something along similar lines.

Thanks everyone 💜

I think I am swaying towards Heidi for a girl Ivy is so popular I already know 3 little girls born within the last 6 months with that name.

Boys suggestions I like so far:

Nathan
Axel
Arthur as the first name

I'm not really in to names that end with the ie sound

Arthur is one of my favourite boys names (getting very popular though unfortunately). Nathan sounds lovely with Dexter
