Hi guys,

We're struggling to pick baby's name so I thought I'd do a wee poll!

Maisie Leaf or Lottie Leaf - please can we have your votes to help us decide :)

Thank you!

Charlotte Leaf is gorgeous and Lottie would be a very cute nickname when little. But I wouldn't want to leave her with Lottie Leaf as her only option.

Maisie is nice.

Another vote for Maisie!

I like Lottie as a NN for Charlotte. But on its own it’s too twee, especially if Leaf is a surname.

Charlotte would be good, giving her options.

I really don’t like Masie.

I wholeheartedly agree with you!!

The surname, "leaf" is to short to go with lottie and kids will take the p, IMO

OP = Do you have any other names in mind??

Hermittrismegistus · 21/06/2024 19:31

Have you considered 'Teeigh'?

DuchessOfSausage · 21/06/2024 20:07

@Hermittrismegistus , Taylor nn Tay?

RogueFemale · 25/06/2024 00:04

Neither Maisie nor Lottie. With surname Leaf it needs a first name more 'serious', such as Araminta or Pandora.

FangsForTheMemory · 25/06/2024 05:07

Maisie sounds too like maize so you get Maize Leaf which is a bit too botanical imo. I’m with the people who are suggesting Charlotte.

Althenameshavegone · 25/06/2024 05:20

Agree with other posters you need a more substantial name, lottie and Maisie are too cutesy to go with Leaf. But I’m not sure Charlotte leaf works, I think the last syllable in Charlotte is too short and it doesn’t roll off the tongue. I think a strong name ending in a would work:

suzanna leaf
emma leaf
matilda leaf
Fiona leaf
zoey leaf
sorcha leaf

milkysmum · 25/06/2024 06:41

As other have said I don't think lotte works sorry, cute as a small child but as a teen, adult could sound pretty ridiculous and leave her open to ridicule. Maise is nice, Charlotte another lovely option.

BiscuitsForever · 25/06/2024 06:52

Maisie Leaf is lovely, sounds like a fairytale character.

Pemba · 25/06/2024 15:31

I agree with pps, sorry but Lottie Leaf sounds like a character from a children's book, I can imagine a fairy who lives in a tree in the garden!

With the unusual surname 'Leaf', I think a more serious and probably longer name is needed.
