Out of interest, where are you based? I have a Jude (10mo) in SE and we've only come across one in classes although aware it's popular online!

We've found the same! Everyone on here goes on about how common it is but my Jude is the only one I know in our local area. I know of 2 others through friends on Facebook, that don't live so near. When we've visited somewhere we've heard one little boy called Jude before. People always seem surprised when I say his name as though they haven't heard it much! It is funny how it seems to differ by area.
Here Albie and Arlo are the ones I always hear.
We are in East Anglia.

The usual with girls - Ava/Eva/Evie etc, Amelia, Isla/Ailla, Eleanor (Ellie)
With boys - Oliver, Oscar, Arlo, Fred/Freddie... and oddly a lot of Italian inspired names. I've met more than one Enzo, a Romeo, Giuseppe, Rocco.

RoseUnder · 27/08/2024 11:54

A lot of the above. But I’ve also recently heard babies being named Lisa, Susan (Suzy), Jennifer (Jenny), Robert, Patrick and Daniel.

People are moving on from the 1930s names and are starting to look to the 60s and 70s for inspiration!

Fridgetapas · 27/08/2024 12:20

Boys - Albie, Arlo, Luca, Teddy
Girls - All the short names like Ella, Isla, Ava, Ada, Eva, Evie, Ellie that all blend into one. Honestly I’m a PPA teacher of several year groups it’s so hard to learn all the girls names as they are so similar!

Bumblbeep · 28/08/2024 09:32

I’ve come across lots of Franks/ Frankies recently, for mostly boys but a couple of girls too. I think that name is trending. And Ezra. I also hear lots of Harry, James, Arlo, Finn, Luca. For girls more variation, but multiple Lily, Mia/Maya, Evie, Ava, Isla and there are suddenly lots of Ottilies

Where are you based @Firebird83? First time I've seen my children's names on a popular mumsnet list ... Or any Mumsnet list come to think of it!! But agree they seem to be very popular around where I am. Annoyingly as they weren't when I was pregnant 😅

Clawedino · 28/08/2024 19:54

Not sure which names but if they are any of these names: Theo, Arlo, Ezra, Reuben, Rudy, Albie and Margot they are quite popular where I am in the East!

Florence. So many Florences.

But I have also recently met a child called Larry and another called Andy. Couldn't believe it.

Pigtailsandall · 26/05/2025 08:25

Oops sorry didn't realise this was an old thread. Just popped in my feed. And cause I met the 45th Florence of the year today (although i do like the name)
