Willa.

Anyone know anyone with this name? Has it incited any name based teasing (Willy?) Or if you don’t know one, do you think it would? It’s quite similar to Willow which is popular, but it’s obviously only one letter off.

Have seen quite a lot of MN posters saying that it would do among young children at school.

Any comments or opinions would be appreciated!

I taught a little girl called Willa about 10 years ago. A lovely little girl with the kindest heart and the most beautiful curly hair! At the time I thought it a very unusual name but it suited her beautifully. It seems to go with the more unusual names that are being chosen nowadays I think.

I really wouldn't because of the 'willy' thing. It's true that in the US (where Willa is most popular) that is not a thing, so there would be no problem there. It's still a bit nothing-y though imo.

I don't mind Willow though. Or Wilhelmina, Mina for short?

I don’t like it. I think it sounds unfinished, somehow.
