Arabella Rose

The name of Peter André's baby.
Press claims it's unique but I've heard Arabella a lot recently and literally every birth announcement I see has Rose for a middle name.
What do we all think?
I'm guessing it's likely to become Bella.

It's a lovely name like both of their other children's.

TheHeadOfTheHouse · 02/05/2024 21:07

It’s not a nice name. It’s clunky and harsh sounding.

goldenretrievermum5 · 02/05/2024 21:08

Nice, a bit overly frilly but what else can you really expect from someone with a daughter called Princess!

Theredjellybean · 02/05/2024 21:08

Interesting... Arabella was 55 th on UK babies names list in 2023.
When I used it 20+yrs ago it was not in top 500..
Yes hearing it often and now a sleb has used it...it's doomed...

DeedlessIndeed · 02/05/2024 21:08

Maybe a bit frilly for my taste, but I agree they are very popular at the moment.

I don't think unique is the right word for it.

Moreteaandchocolate · 02/05/2024 21:33

A bit frilly for my taste but it’s a perfectly good name.

HeadNorth · 02/05/2024 21:34

It’s a lovely name

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 02/05/2024 21:36

I like it but it’s not unique

user1492757084 · 03/05/2024 09:05

No longer very unique, but Arabella Rose is a nice name.

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 03/05/2024 10:56

Sounds like a wedding dress shop.

Boxerdor · 03/05/2024 10:57

It’s nice but arabella or Bella rose is very very popular at the moment. She’s fared better than poor Princess though with the name.

Welovecrumpets · 03/05/2024 10:59

It makes me think of one of those dolls with the golden ringlets and frou frou dresses. It’s very frilly and a little twee IMO

toastofthetown · 03/05/2024 10:59

Arabella is a top fifty name and Rose is the beige of the middle name world. Headlines exist to generate clicks though, and ‘check out Peter Andre’s unusual baby name’ is going to get more clicks than ‘Peter Andre has called his baby Arabella Rose’.

Cattenberg · 03/05/2024 11:03

A-something Rose probably the default name for girls right now. Amelia Rose, Ava Rose, Annabel Rose, Aria Rose, Alana Rose …. Closely followed by other vowelly names - Emilia Rose, Evie Rose, Isabelle Rose…

They’re very pretty names but at DD’s school the teachers occasionally muddle them up.

CelesteCunningham · 03/05/2024 11:44

Agree it's not particularly unusual or unique, and it's not for me as it's overly frilly for my tastes, but the press are just doing that as click bait.

FlyingPizzaMonkey · 03/05/2024 14:50

I mean Rose is the most boring overused middle name along with May and Grace.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 03/05/2024 16:05

Arabella is nice enough, although don’t they also have an Amelia? Getting 2 lots of post for Miss A Surname won’t be great. So I think would have gone Rose Arabella instead - Rose feels much fresher as a first name than as an overused middle name imo. But personally I’d still be happier to be an Arabella than an Apple, so I suppose for her sake it’s great that it’s not actually a “unique” name.

CatchTheBalloon · 03/05/2024 16:13

The papers call pretty much every celebrity baby name "unique" though 🤷‍♀️ you're overthinking it they do it all the time. At least they've finally named her now though they had really been milking it for as long as possible and probably had that name chosen all along.

VibeOnWithMyGalPals · 03/05/2024 16:16

It’s beautiful. I think they will definitely shorten it to Bella, which would be a shame.

Sunnnybunny72 · 03/05/2024 16:16

Sounds like a dolls name. Very few could carry this name off as they age.

lavenderjump · 04/05/2024 09:08

Far from unique. What is the obsession with pairing every name with middle name Rose. It's so overdone!

moonshinepoursthroughmywindow · 04/05/2024 09:23

I like it, but I don't think it's particularly unusual.

BoleynMemories13 · 04/05/2024 12:37

According to the press, every celebrity picks a unique or unusual name for their baby, even when they most definitely haven't. Total clickbate.

Arabella is much too frilly for me but at least it's a normal name and they haven't really saddled her with something 'younique'.

shannnxo · 05/05/2024 16:25

I preferred his other option Athena, bit more unique and really compliments his Greek heritage
