Boys names with short ‘i’ sound

Hi

Does anyone have any suggestions for boys names with a short ‘i’ sound somewhere?

I love the names Idris, Emrys and Gilford but my husband doesn’t like them for various reasons so I’m looking for more with the same sound!

Thanks!! 😊

I know a Gideon and a Gifford. Kim is another one, or Timothy? Or Simeon?

Alistair.
Finley.
William.
Vincent.
Richard
. Nicholas.
Philip
. Wilbur.
Gilbert..
Millen. (A tiny new born baby I met. Its not really the sort of name I'd go for but it sounded lovely)
Christopher.
Timothy.
Dylan (Although traditionally spelt with the Y rather than the i, it still has the lower case I sound in it. There's also nothing to stop you spelling it Dillon.

It’s got to be Jim. Cutest name ever.

How do you say Ian and Rhys – that’s a long ‘i’ sound, surely? Like ee. I’d say same for Ivan and Ivor but those might be more variable. I’d say ee-van and ee-vor.

KirstenBlest · 25/04/2024 20:58

I'd say EE-un, Eye-vun and Eye-ver. No short 'i' sound.

Sebastian doesn't really contain a short i sound. It's normally said in 3 syllables
