Hi,

due to have a baby girl in just under two weeks. What name do you all prefer please?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Out of the two, Billie.

Not Perrie, Mrs Patterson.

Famfirst · 08/04/2024 20:24

Neither. I'm a per sitter and most budgies are Billie or perrie

Moreteaandchocolate · 08/04/2024 20:30

Billie

PickledPurplePickle · 08/04/2024 20:33

Neither

MuggedByReality · 08/04/2024 20:35

Neither, I’m afraid. Both sound ‘the opposite of posh’.

HanaJane · 08/04/2024 20:49

Not too keen on eitha but prefer Perrie

AnnetteKurtan · 08/04/2024 20:51

I really like Perrie tbh

Chewbecca · 08/04/2024 20:56

Are there any other names you're thinking about?

Whitewatergrafting · 08/04/2024 21:18

Both horrible sorry.

AngelaBB · 08/04/2024 21:24

I like Billie but maybe with a second name, Billie-Rae, Billie Jo, etc.

alwaysmovingforwards · 08/04/2024 21:26

Not a fan of either, but you do you.

MrsTerryPratchett · 08/04/2024 21:28

'Petrie' autocorrects. I didn't change it back so you could see.

Never use a name that autocorrects.

I don't personally like Billie, but didn't realise there were even worse options like your suggestions for a girl! 😬

I like Peri, with that spelling, but you probably do need to have Turkish heritage to pull it off.

Berlinlover · 08/04/2024 21:38

I love them both but couldn’t imagine using either name for some reason.

35andThriving · 08/04/2024 22:20

Billie, it's more established as a unisex name.

olympicsrock · 08/04/2024 22:30

Both awful

theduchessofspork · 08/04/2024 23:05

Billie I spose

Perry v odd for a girl

Oh god - this makes me realise you shouldn’t use Peri/Perrie at all these days

All anyone will think is Peri-menopause

😲

Let me think about that..

No

Never hyphen, never. Unless French.

FayCarew · 08/04/2024 23:09

Billie-Rae Cyrus? Billie-Jean?

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 10/04/2024 14:05

Oof. Billie is the lesser of two evils but they're both terrible. "Opposite of posh" is a very diplomatic way a PP has put it.

JamSandle · 10/04/2024 14:07

Perrie

BathshebaEverdene1 · 10/04/2024 14:13

They might be nice nicknames for a toddler but as names to go through adult life with....
they are not really names. Perry the teenager/Perry the nasty drink/ Peri menopause.
Maybe Wilhelmina lol

FayCarew · 10/04/2024 14:21

I know a Billie and she's from a well-heeled background. She's Wilhelmina on her BC. I think Billie is fine.

Many of the names that are popular are ones like Teddy, Hallie, Alfie, Maisie etc. Billie will blend in.
