Camille, Ines or Naomi

Hi all, expecting a second baby, we have a son named William Vaughan Louis. We have found out recently our second baby is a girl.
We like 3 names Camille, Ines and Naomi.
I think Camille is the favourite but I always imagined my little girl would be called Naomi, now I'm not feeling that. DH loves Ines.

I'm thinking Camille Ines something but I want some opinions before we settle. I like Ines a lot too though!!

Any thoughts for favourite name or good middle name combos appreciated!

Camille is Cam-ee or Cam-eel
Naomi has several different ways that people say it.
Inès needs an accent but it's by far the best of the 3.

LlynTegid · 05/04/2024 18:28

I think Naomi is the best of the three in my opinion.

I don't think pronunciation issues bother me. I have a name with several equally recognised pronunciations and it's never bothered me much. Once you correct people they tend to change how they say it in my experience.

I like both Cam-eel and Cam-ee but we'd say Cam-eel. Naomi we'd say Nay-omi.
Don't really want to use an accent as half the time it would end up dropped which seems pointless.

Camille is beautiful 😍

Swearwolf · 05/04/2024 18:33

I love Camille and Naomi, don't really get the Mumsnet love for Ines. I don't think it matters if there are multiple pronunciations either (and anyway, Ines could be Ee-nez or Eye-nez so it's a consideration for all three).

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 05/04/2024 18:49

I like Camille best

Moreteaandchocolate · 05/04/2024 18:56

My favourite is Naomi, it’s a beautiful classic, familiar but not overused or dated. I also think it goes best with William.

Camille is quite nice.

Ines - I haven’t heard this in real life but I think it’s quite pretty - very different to William and I might assume a French heritage (I don’t know if that’s the case?)

Naomi Camille Ines
Naomi Ines Camille
Naomi Camille Sofia
Naomi Ines Sofia
Naomi Camille Lucia
Naomi Ines Lucia

Camille Ines Sofia
Camille Ines Nicole
Camille Ines Olivia
Camille Ines Lucia

I agree Naomi goes best because I’d expect a brother called Guillaume for an Inès or Camille, not William. Of course some don’t care about this but just giving my opinion.

Nicebloomers · 05/04/2024 19:51

Ines is just gorgeous but I prefer Camille with William.

SmallestInTheClass · 05/04/2024 19:56

Camille makes me think of Camilla even though they sound different. I think it will be shortened to Millie or Cammie so think about if you would be OK with that. I like Ines the best.

Lulu1919 · 05/04/2024 19:57

Camille

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 05/04/2024 20:01

Camille or Naomi. I don't get ines but everyone seems to like it

Borris · 05/04/2024 20:17

I know a Camille. Everyone calls her cam

shoopshoopdedoo · 05/04/2024 20:44

I think Naomi is nice and goes well with William, if that matters. I love Ines. Personally, I’m not keen on Camille.

OnHerSolidFoundations · 05/04/2024 20:55

Camille but please pronounce it properly!

They're all nice but I love Camille!

KirstenBlest · 05/04/2024 21:04

People saying Nigh-o-mi or Nigh-O-mi would annoy me no end, so I'd never choose it.

theduchessofspork · 05/04/2024 23:06

I love Ines
Really like Naomi

Not a fan of Camille, often ends up Cam-eel in English although Camilla is quite nice -

rogueone · 05/04/2024 23:19

The only Ines I know is a boy but i do like the name, not a fan of Naomi, Camille is probably the best one to go with her brother William

Just a few others to throw in

Jemima
Hannah
Freya
Georgina
Louis

OnHerSolidFoundations · 05/04/2024 23:34

It's pronounced CamEEyeh 🤷🏻‍♀️

TempsPerdu · 06/04/2024 00:00
