Martha or Maria?

I'm trying to decide between the two.

Maria.

My friend has a dog called Martha.

Martha and Maria are a matching pair - as in the two sisters in the Bible story. But because of that, they also have a different image - Martha the kitchen worker and Maria (Mary) the spiritual one.

I am not keen on Martha. There are loads of early 20s ones. Maria is much more unusual, but I do prefer Mary. You need to choose a pronunciation of Maria as well - Mar-I-a or Mar-EE-a.

They are both nice but I prefer Maria.

Both nice but Mary is lovely and due a comeback
