Middle names for a girl

SDGX · 30/03/2024 18:56

We decided not to find out the gender of our baby but would like a name set for when they do arrive. We have a full boys name but only have a first name for a girl and would like a middle name.

We have settled on Adelaide for the first name and would ideally like a short middle name as Adelaide is long but we are open to longer names.

We have a while to decide as we’re not too far along but I feel like I’ve scoured the internet for names and can’t find one we both like or one that sounds right.

Adelaide was my Grandma's name and I've always loved it! I immediately thought that a short middle name with an "e" in it would sound good, so agree with pps:
Adelaide Gwen
Adelaide Wren

You’ve suggested so many lovely names!

I love Adelaide Ottilie. We were going to use Ottilie for our 1st born but we chose Everly instead so it’s definitely one we’re thinking about.

I really like uncommon/unusual or unique names but not too out there that people would think it’s ridiculous.

I quite liked Margot but have the feeling people will just think we’ve gone for an Australian themed name which isn’t the case 😂

I Also love Fleur but my childhood teddy that I passed on to our 1st born is called Fleur!

I like Margot but I feel like people will think we’ve chosen an Australian theme for the name which we haven’t, it’s just that we like two names that are connected to Australia 😂

I also like alliteration but my partner has suddenly decided he doesn’t like it but we’d previously discussed Athena and Aster!

Adelaide Rachel
Adelaide Sophie
Adelaide Louise
Adelaide Clotilde
Adelaide Fern
Adelaide Tess

I prefer Adelaide as a second name; I like it much better in it's full form.

Adele Ottilie
Adele Miranda
Adele Cressida

Is there someone in your family you are close to or a friend? Both my children's middle names are family/friend related.
And think about initials.
My sister's initials spell ham which she hates so added another middle name.

We wouldn’t use Adele. If we shortened it, we’d use Addie but I want something that flows with Adelaide as a full first name.
