DD and DS are due in 2 months but we’re having trouble deciding on a name. DH and I have agreed on the two shortlist but unfortunately can’t seem to get any further! Very grateful for any opinions

They’re your babies though! Names mean something to each one of us and you know what these names mean to you.
That said. Harper is is awful 😄

I think we must have similar taste in names as I love so many of these! Jago is one of my favourite boys names I think it would work best with Harper or Amelie (Lara too maybe) I love Beatrice and Lottie too but would probably then pair with more traditional Henry or Alexander. I suppose though just pick the two names you like best and go for it. Good luck

They're all really lovely - apart from Harper and Jago. Harper will date, and will always have Beckham associations.
Lara and Patrick, or Charlotte and Patrick are the nicest, imo.

Both lovely names independently and interesting as a pair.

They're all good names.

I like Maeve best.

Less keen on Amelie and Lottie.

My favourites from your girls list are Sasha, Lara and Maeve - simple, pretty, good for all ages, familiar but not overused.

Second favourite would be Amelie (only downside is people hearing it as Emily)

Thirdly, Charlotte / Lottie - nice name but I’m not so keen on Charlie and there’s a risk your daughter would choose that when she’s older

Isabel - lovely but so overused right now (when you include all the spelling variations)

Beatrice - a bit story book as a full name and Bea is cute but not an “adult” short version for the workplace etc imo

Harper - not really to my taste but it could grow on me.

Boys:

My favourite is Sebastian, love this and it’s not too overused! Seb is a great short version.

Henry and Alexander are close seconds, just more commonly used than Sebastian.

Reuben, Conor, Patrick - all great too and not overused.

Jago - sounds quite trendy, different vibe to your other choices, it could grow on me.

I agree with PP Harper and Jago are ... a bit marmite! Your tastes are very broad, from the very traditional (Henry) to the outré (jago)- Sebastian is a sensible Goldilocks style middle ground imo!

Lara and Alexander are my fave of your choices personally- although Henry and Isabel come close. I tend to like more classic style names though ( so quite like Charlotte and Beatrice too for that reason).

I get the appeal of Maeve, Patrick and Conor if you have Irish heritage or Jago if Cornish heritage but your other choices are too trendy for me ( well maybe not Sebastian- but I hate Seb!)

Yep.. we’re from NI hence the Irish name appeal. No Cornish heritage - I just know a young Jago and have always admired his name, almost never heard of here but definitely thinks it’s been crossed off now!

Oh also- Sasha and Alexander I would definitely avoid together given Sacha being a nickname for Alexander!

Yep - Sasha is Alexander in Russian, definitely wouldn’t be using those two together (as much as I love them!)
