Ellis spelling is often used for boys
I like Iris, Elsie and Thea and Rafferty and Caspian
I think you might like Romilly (girl name), Remy (I like this for boy), Hazel, Roland, Alice or Declan

DustyLee123 · 22/02/2024 21:41

I agree with pp. I see Ellis as a boy’s name.
I like Edie.

Mumofgirls2017 · 22/02/2024 21:50

My first choices would be Iris and Caspian. But like a lot of the others. Eden, Edie, Rafe, Teddy 🥰

Onelife2024 · 22/02/2024 21:52

I love Thea and Iris. I really like Eden and Elsie. I love Frankie if short for Francesca. I hadn’t heard Reeva before, but it could grow on me. I’m not keen on Mallory but love Mali. I’m not keen on Ellis for a girl, personally.

From your boys names, I really like Rafferty with Raffy / Rafe for short. I love Teddy if short for Edward. I’m not so keen on Ronnie or Caspian.

Suggestions -

Robbie / Bobby ( Robert)
Ralphy / Ralph
Raffy / Rafe as short for Raphael
Jem (short for Jeremy)
Joey (Joseph)
Dougie (Douglas)
Tristan
Finley

SkaneTos · 22/02/2024 21:53

Mallory - love
Thea - short for Dorothea?

Frankie - short for Francis, may assume a boy?

Boys
Rafe - short for Raffety
Teddy - No! over popular for dogs and babies (unless short for Edward)

Iris or Thea. Rafe or Rafferty

WaltzingWaters · 22/02/2024 21:57

I’ve only ever heard Ellis as a boys name.

Elsie, Edie, and Mallory are lovely for girls.
Rafferty (Rafi) and Edward (Teddy) for boys. Or Ellis for a boy!

Grammarmum · 22/02/2024 21:59

Elsie or Rafferty

tizalinatuna · 22/02/2024 22:05

Love

Mallory
Thea
Frankie

They all really have spirit. The others are too frilly.

Rafferty/Raffie
Ronnie
Caspian

These are all great. Unusual and characterful.

AdaColeman · 22/02/2024 22:17

Iris and Rafe are my favourites.

Least favourites are Elsie Eden Frankie and Rafferty.

Have you considered Edith Ingrid or Eric?

badlydrawntoy · 22/02/2024 22:24

Mallory and Rafferty are my favourites from your list.

ReadingLight · 22/02/2024 22:32

Thea and Rafe.

Mallory, Reeva and Ronnie are not so good.

Newbornhaze · 23/02/2024 04:08

I agree with PP that I see Ellis as a boys name (I have a little boy called Ellis so biased). I love Eden and Elsie which sound much more feminine. I like Teddy for a boy if short for Theodore or Edward. Not a fan as a standalone name

AllTheNaps · 23/02/2024 06:06

Thankyou all.

Interesting on Ellis; I know of 3 adult Ellis's and 2 are female and 1 male so interesting how everyone swayed towards male.

I absolutely love Iris and Eden for girls. The rest of your list isn't to my taste.

Ellis I would definitely assume boy. I believe it is technically unisex but I've only ever known boys with this name.

DesertSnow · 23/02/2024 09:19

I like Thea and Rafferty from your list

MrsPositivity1 · 23/02/2024 09:46

Eden & Teddy

WolfMother326 · 23/02/2024 09:54

On the point of Ellis, what about the old fashioned name Ellory for a girl?

Cuppachuchu · 23/02/2024 09:59

I met a little Erin recently and thought it lovely.
For a boy I like Adam, Arran, or Aidan.

KirstenBlest · 23/02/2024 11:44

Iris - like

Not keen:
Edie, ok short for Edith
Reeva - too close to Eva
Ellis - boy's name

Don't like:
Elsie
Mallory
Thea
Eden
Frankie
like: CaspianOK: Ronnie
Don't like:
Rafe
Teddy
Rafferty/Raffie

trippingthelightfantastic1 · 23/02/2024 14:58

Iris and Caspian are nice.

StickNMove · 23/02/2024 15:03

I like Thea and Iris. My favourite is Reeva, but with the French spelling ‘Riva’. Frankie only if short for Francesca!

Mallory, Eden & Ellis aren’t nearly so nice. Ellis is odd for a girl, I’d expect Elise instead.

Caspian / Cass is nice.

Really not keen on Ronnie, Rafferty or Teddy.
