I already have a Hannah. What next?

DD is called Hannah. DC2 is due in 12 days (and counting!). We dont know if its a boy or girl. We like traditional English names rather than anything unusual.

So far I like Isobel or Henry.

Anyone got any other suggestions?

Not keen on siblings having the same initial tbh, though Henry a great name.

I'd avoid names that end in -a too, because they can be a bit sound-a-likey, eg Emma, Keira etc.

Isobel lovely name.

belgo · 23/03/2008 15:59

boys:
David
William
Thomas

micegg · 23/03/2008 16:02

I like William.
DD chose Henry after the vacuum cleaner (!). But after saying it a few times I quite liked it. I dont mind them having the same initial because our surname will limit the choice. It's very 'northern'

Hannah and Henry go fine together.

Just seen another thread and quite like Nancy now. Might have to keep repeating that with the surname though.

It doesn't matter what it sounds like on your Christmas cards. They are individuals.

Your names are lovely anyway.

Fimbo · 23/03/2008 20:37

Isobel, Isobella etc and Henry although lovely names, are the names round my way at the moment.

I know three sets of sisters:-

Hannah & Elaine

Hannah & Millie

Hannah & Natalie

Hannah & William

Hannah & Jonathan

Hannah & Murray

CarGirl · 23/03/2008 20:38

Your names are both really nice. As a result they are pretty popular right now, which you might not be too keen on.

If I had a Hannah, I think I would consider Charlotte, Eleanor and Louisa (or maybe Eloise) for a girl, and also Rose (or Rosamund).

Alexander and Alexandra are both nice and traditional too. Gosh lots to choose from!

ScaryHairy · 23/03/2008 20:40

Oooh, what about Emma?

i like sophie and joseph

Love Daniel but DH doesn't. I will add Samuel to the list. I dont mind the name being popular as long its not too popular. I have an unusual name and TBH its a pain as I am always spelling it and pronouncing it.

hatrick we are indeed...dh mentions it daily..lol

bluenosesaint · 23/03/2008 20:44

I think that Henry and Isobel are great names (although i prefer the spelling Isabelle)

For traditional girls names, how about:

Lucy
Rebecca
Alice
Olivia
Amy
Ella
Abigail
Elizabeth
Rose
Hope

For traditional boys names, how about:

William
Oliver
Thomas
Joseph
Benjamin
Samuel
James
Daniel
Luke
Adam

Good luck
