Hello

Currently trying to decide on a name for a girl.

If anyone has a bit of time, would appreciate some honest opinions on the below. Also welcome to drop some ideas in the comments. Really struggling.

Belle Victoria Rose

Victoria Rose

Rose Victoria

Lucia

Many thanks 😊

I'd leave out Rose. Almost all the new baby girls born recently have Rose somewhere in their names, it's tacky.

Alloveragain3 · 03/02/2024 13:07

I adore Lucia, pronounced Loo-chee-ah

Belle is also very pretty

Teasie123 · 03/02/2024 13:07

Victoria rose is lovely. I have a neice called Annie-rose. She always gets compliments on her name.🤗🤗🤗

daisypond · 03/02/2024 13:14

Victoria is quite unusual these days. I quite like it. Not with Rose as a middle name, though.
Rose is nice, but better as a first name.
I don’t like Belle at all.

Lucia -pronounced the Italian way -is great. I’d go for that.

theduchessofspork · 03/02/2024 13:14

Victoria is lovely and underused right now - I like Vita as a shortform too. Rose is a really really overused middle name though - maybe Victoria Lucy instead?

Lucia is great too - just several pronunciations which will be annoying

Rose is lovely but way overdone

Belle is Disney naff, with a side order of hooker/stripper (belle du jour etc) and having a name that means beautiful is a lot of pressure

Mama0ftw0 · 03/02/2024 13:17

@Hermittrismegistus Thank you. I do agree there are many with Rose.
Thanks again.

@Alloveragain3 Thank you. I do like Lucia but I have seen many people using it just recently that’s why I am still unsure.
thank you.

@Teasie123 Never heard that name before it’s lovely. Thank you

Rose is every girl’s middle name, it’s so overused it’s become dull.

Belle doesn’t feel like an actual name. I don’t hear Victoria a lot.

Mama0ftw0 · 03/02/2024 13:20

Thank you @daisypond
Your screen name just reminded me that I also had Daisy in the running.
Thank you many have said about it being used so much as middle.
thank you

I like Lucia on paper but I would be unsure of the pronunciation so that would probably annoy the child. I wouldn't worry about what middle name you give as they are rarely used

Mama0ftw0 · 03/02/2024 13:22

@theduchessofspork thank you for the info on Belle. It really helps because sometimes people don’t know certain things. Thank you.
I do like Victoria and Lucia so far the most.

@NachosAndCheese thank you. yes definitely thinking not Rose now.

Mama0ftw0 · 03/02/2024 13:24

@Funkyslippers so true. There are many ways.

thank you very much.

Lucia Victoria no?

OP posts:
miniaturepixieonacid · 03/02/2024 13:28

I like Victoria Rose and Rose Victoria.

Yes, Rose is used a lot as a middle name but that's because it's pretty and goes with almost any name. Like the Jane of the 1970s and 1980s but prettier imo (Not being rude, my middle name is Jane). It's far less used as a first name.

If you went with Belle Victoria Rose then I agree the Rose is uneccessary. I'd also flip them and use Victoria Belle. I don't like Vicky as a shortening but Toria and Vita are good alternatives. Or keep the full name.

I don't really like Lucia. Prefer Loo-see-a to Loo-chee-a but not a fan of either.

miniaturepixieonacid · 03/02/2024 13:29

Sorry, cross posted. You like Lucia best. My (or anyone else's) opinion is irrelevant!

Mama0ftw0 · 03/02/2024 13:31

@miniaturepixieonacid Thank you for this.

Makes sense what you said regarding Rose.
I was going to go with Victoria in full however I know many will shorten it.
Thank you very much.

@miniaturepixieonacid Victoria and Lucia so far.
What you wrote has helped me though because I was not sure whether Victoria is old now? And would be odd in years to come.
I do really like it.
thank you again

Drop the double barrel
Lucia out of the list
Belle is nice but itself

MyBigFatGreekSalad · 03/02/2024 13:36

What about Lucia belle?

Onelife2024 · 03/02/2024 13:52

I love Lucia - gorgeous name. Lucia Victoria or Lucia Belle are lovely.

My second favourite is Victoria- as long as you don’t mind Vicky (I like it).

beachyone1904 · 03/02/2024 13:59

the name belle sounds lovely

user1492757084 · 03/02/2024 14:02

Victoria is perfect. It is classic, not too common with nice history and will never goout of style.

Victoria Wren
Victoria Lucia
Victoria Rosa
Victoria Jean
Victoria Camille
Victoria Skye
Victoria Bridie

BebbanburgIsMine · 03/02/2024 14:05

Victoria Rose is beautiful, Victoria is my DDs middle name.

It would have been her first name but XH's family immediately started saying Vicky (before she was born) and I can't stand shortened names, so DD2 got another name that can't be shortened.

XH's family also called DD1 the shortened version of her name, even though DD herself said she hated.
